Structural insulation panels

Structural Insulated Panels (SIP) are a composite building material. They consist of a two-layer sandwich of structural board with an insulating layer of foam in the middle. The board is usually oriented strand board (OSB) and the foam can be expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), extruded polystyrene foam (XPS) or polyurethane foam.


The sketch above shows the standard sandwich wall panels and on the right side is the way to join panels.
